Evergreen, a Canadian nonprofit organization that works to bring nature to cities through naturalization projects, is offering Toyota Evergreen Learning Grounds grants to support schools in bringing nature to their school grounds.
Small grants are available to schools and nonprofit daycare centers throughout Canada to undertake greening and food garden projects. Publicly-funded schools (JK- grade 12), including schools that are a public/private mix, can apply for grants of $500 to $2,000; nonprofit daycares are eligible to apply for grants of $500 to $1,000.
The application deadline is January 15, 2010. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply early as funds are limited.
