Dorcas Aid is an International Christian Relief and Development Agency working in Southern Africa. At present Dorcas Aid is working with over 15 partner organisations in South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Mozambique. Dorcas Aid seeks to appoint a committed and energetic Regional Director to oversee the operations and fundraising of all its activities in its different offices in Southern Africa. The person will be based in Florida, Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Financial Management and Fundraising
1.1 Responsible for financial management and administration in the region.
1.2 Responsible for local fundraising for all projects

2. Project Management
2.1 Assist Country Coordinators in the Monitoring of Projects in the region
2.2 Appraise progress and evaluation reports and appraise new project proposals and budgets
2.3 Draft Terms of Reference for evaluators or consultants.

3. Organization & Policy
3.1 Staff capacity Building
3.2 Development of the general policy of DAI and the regional policy and strategic planning.
3.3 Implementation of the DAI policy guidelines in the organisation and the projects.
3.4 Manage the Country Coordinators and other Regional office staff
3.5 Networking: Develop and maintain contacts with National Government, NGO’s and other local organisations (including churches)

Requirements:
- Education: BSc or MA degree, preferably in a subject related to development cooperation
- A minimum of five years working experience in the non-profit sector, especially in the regions of Southern Africa
- Proven Project Management experience and Community Development experience
- Management skills
- Fundraising skills; ability to write proposals and an understanding of the Logical framework approach
- Monitoring and evaluation skills
- A good grasp of related advocacy & policy issues
- Good financial management skills
- Good understanding of strategic development issues in the region (Health, HIV/Aids, Livelihoods)
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation
- Good communication skills at all levels including written, verbal as well as good presentation skills
- Good networking skills
- Ability to work closely with the Christian Community and work as part of a multi-cultural team
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively in Southern Africa
- Computer literacy
- Fluency in English and a vernacular language (desirable)
- Multicultural references and cross cultural adaptability
- Active member of a church

- Passport, Valid Driver’s license
