Household Economy Approach (HEA) Team Leader (4): Zimbabwe Vulnerability Assessment Committee

The Zimbabwe Vulnerability Assessment Committee (ZIMVAC) and a consortium of NGOs have received funding to set up livelihood baseline for strengthening programme monitoring and livelihoods based vulnerability analysis (LBVA) using the Household Economy Approach as the primary analytical framework. Save the Children, as the Lead Partner in the Consortium would like to invite applications for the post of Household Economy Approach (HEA) team leader (4).

Job purpose: The HEA team leader will be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation of activities and for the achievement of proposed work plan. He/she will report to their respective Country Directors or designated person. As a consortium and ZIMVAC member he/she will also keep the ZIMVAC Technical Advisor regularly updated on activities and initiatives.

Main responsibilities

Act as a link between participating agencies and the bigger ZIMVAC group. This is to ensure proper sync of agency and national interests in the baselines.
Participate in all ZIMVAC meetings where HEA work is on the agenda or discussions are likely to have an influence on the baseline work.
Lead field based training to ensure that trainees/practitioners follow the HEA method.
Support the trainees/practitioners to collect reliable data for the baselines by way of guiding the interview process and coaching.
Lead report-writing sessions for the trainees/practitioners ensuring all important baseline information is recorded according to formats provided.

Key Competencies

A minimum of a first degree in Social Sciences
Good understanding of the Household Economy Approach
Good understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation techniques
Willing to work in isolated rural areas with basic living conditions, in politically sensitive and occasionally volatile environments
Good numerical skills and strong analytical skills
