About the Social Investment Council
The Social Investment Council is a network of nearly 100 socially conscious young leaders from the private sector who actively support Echoing Green’s mission to invest in and support social entrepreneurs. Given Echoing Green’s founding and continued support from the private equity world, the Council is largely comprised of young professionals in finance, but Council members represent many other sectors and industries as well. Just as Echoing Green is an active investor in the work of promising social entrepreneurs, offering services and opportunities that enhance their impact, Council members practice engaged philanthropy and demonstrate a multifaceted commitment to social change.
In keeping with Echoing Green’s mission to develop a wider community in order to support our fellows’ work, the Council is a constantly growing, diverse network of young professionals who interact with Echoing Green Fellows and each other through monthly events (both social and educational) and special projects. Annually, the Council raises enough funds to support approximately three Echoing Green Fellows over the course of their two-year fellowship. The Council reaches its goals through organizing fundraising, educational and cultivation events, including an annual cocktail event in New York City that draws 450+ young professionals.
