The Delegation of the European Union to Zimbabwe seeks to employ a Driver (Group V) for the Administrative Section of the Delegation. The post is based at the Delegation offices in Harare. The incumbent will report to the Head of Administration
Job Content
- Performing driving duties in Harare and in the field using the Delegations cars.
- Making regular deliveries of parcels and documents.
- Taking care of the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres, etc; perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
- Updates the logbook of vehicle use on a daily basis.
- Carrying out minor office work (i.e. photocopying, mail delivery, etc.)
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of Administration.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must posses a certificate of completion of at least three subjects at GCSE Ordinary Level including English.
- Class Four Driver’s Licence without endorsement.
- Valid Defensive Driver’s certificate.
- At least four years continuous of relevant experience. Experience as a driver including experience with four wheel driven vehicles. Proven experience in car mechanics will also be taken into account.
- Excellent English: reading, writing and speaking. Knowledge of French and other official languages of the European Union Member States will be considered an asset.
- Experience with MS Office package or similar as well as with Internet based services will be considered as an asset.
- Interest in current affairs and basic knowledge of the European Union and its institutions are required.
- The candidate should have the flexibility to adapt to various administrative tasks.
Duration: Indefinite contract.
Remuneration: According to the salary scales of the European Union and relevant experience.
