UNRISD is now accepting applications for a three-month internship to assist with research into aid effectiveness and development effectiveness in the case of the Republic of Korea. This project is in preparation for the High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness in Korea in 2011.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a master’s or PhD degree programme (as per UN Secretariat rules regarding interns) in the social sciences (e.g. Social Policy, Political Science, Economics, Development Studies)
- Knowledge of research and debates around aid effectiveness, and the complimentarity of economic and social policies in long-term sustainable development
- Written and spoken fluency in English is essential
- Written and spoken fluency in Korean is desirable
- Proficiency in MS Office packages
Responsibilities:
- Desk studies and provision of substantive input for the project, and the preparation of a methodological workshop.
- Other administrative tasks (editing, document management, photocopying, assistance with workshop preparation) as required.
Time period:
The internship will be three months in length, between March and June 2011 with a possibility of extension. The exact start date is negotiable.
Remuneration:
- In accordance with the rules and regulations of the UN Internship Programme, this internship is not financially remunerated.
- The Institute is not responsible for interns’ travel expenses to and from Geneva, or for their medical insurance for the period of assignment.
