Technical Documentation and Knowledge Management (KM): Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Zimbabwe (EGPAF-Zimbabwe)

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s Zimbabwe (EGPAF-Zimbabwe) country program has an exciting opportunity for an innovative and dynamic person to provide for the routine documentation and sharing of lessons learned and innovations generated through its support to the national PMTCT and pediatric care and treatment program towards the goal to eliminate new HIV infections in children. Responsibilities include:

Under the guidance of Technical Director and in close collaboration with the Advocacy and Communication Officer, support EGPAF-Zimbabwe to achieve their knowledge management and documentation objectives.

The specific objectives are:

-    Develop and execute EGPAF-Zimbabwe’s routine documentation and knowledge management plan toward achievement of defined knowledge-sharing goals and objectives

-    Write, edit and format technical reports, conference reports, conference abstracts and gray literature summarizing promising/best practices and lessons learned for both internal and external audiences

-    Ensure that lessons and innovations generated by EGPAF-Zimbabwe and its in-country partners are routinely documented and shared within EGPAF-Zimbabwe, as well as with donors and other EGPAF country and global teams, to support continuous learning and program improvement

-    Support documentation and dissemination of knowledge generated through internal advisory/working groups, expert meetings, and communities of practice

-    Develop tools and templates to support routine capture and sharing of programmatic innovations by field-based staff

Deliverables:

-    Comprehensive knowledge management and documentation plan for EGPAF-Zimbabwe aligned with the program’s knowledge-sharing goals and objectives

-    Several professionally written and edited documents (both internal and external)

-    Several documents summarizing knowledge generated through internal advisory/working groups, expert meetings and communities of practice

-    Templates and tools for capture and sharing or programmatic innovations

Qualifications:

Required qualifications:

-    Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Public Health, International Development, Communications, or similar preferred; and

-    At least five years’ practical experience successfully executing a technical documentation or knowledge management strategy, preferably in an international health or development agency

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

-    State-of-the-art knowledge of the literature, tools and practices of knowledge management

-    Strong publication (electronic and print) writing, editing and formatting skills

-    Basic understanding of medical terminology, especially related to HIV/AIDS

-    Good knowledge and understanding of HIV sector in Zimbabwe

-    Strong listening and information gathering skills, and ability to compile and consolidate technical information and resources

-    Proficient in Word, PowerPoint and Excel

-    Expert knowledge of English grammar, composition and style

-    Ability to work independently

-    Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team

-    Strong attention to detail and follow-through

-    Registered to work in Zimbabwe

Duration of Consultancy:

-    18th July to 30th September

-    Possibility of being considered for a full time post once funding is confirmed
