Call for Nominations: Knight International Journalism Awards
Each November, the International Center for Journalists honors outstanding colleagues with the Knight International Journalism Award at our annual gala in Washington, D.C. We’re now seeking nominees whose pioneering coverage or media innovations have a significant impact on the lives of people around the world. Candidates can be reporters, editors, technologists, media managers, citizen journalists or bloggers. Please send in your nominations by Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018.
The 2017 winners were Pakistani filmmaker and journalist Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, whose reports led to legislative changes in her country, and Karam al-Masri, a Syrian photojournalist and videographer who persisted in covering the siege of Aleppo through a near-total blackout of news from the city. The award reflects the mission of ICFJ’s Knight Fellowships, which foster a global culture of news innovation. The program is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
The winners will be honored at ICFJ’s Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C., on Nov. 8, 2018. For more information on the awards, please send an email to Luisa Pires Luciano at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1.202.349.7601.
