The Zimbabwe-Europe Partnership for Democracy was established on the ground in 2010 as a local branch office of the Brussels-based European Partnership for Democracy (EPD), and registered as a Zimbabwean Trust. ZEPAD first took up the responsibility of a management body for civil society interventions in the constitutional reform process, originally implementing a project funded by the EU Instrument for Stability. ZEPAD serves as a coordinating body for civil society activities of (currently) 8 implementing partners, as well as a link to all-party bodies in the political society such as COPAC.
