[France] The Emile Boutmy Scholarship 2010-2011

Sciences Po created the Emile Boutmy scholarship after the founder of Sciences Po (1871) in order to attract the very best international students from outside of the European Union. The Emile Boutmy Scholarship is awarded to top students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and individual course requirements.

Eligibility requirements
Students from outside of the European Union who have been offered a place to study at undergraduate or Masters level are eligible.

This scholarship is awarded to students with excellent academic credentials and whose profile matches that of their chosen course. Students’ financial situations are also taken into account when assessing their applications.

Scholarship Awards within the Foreign Development Assistance Programme – offer for the academic year 2010/2011

The Government of the Czech Republic offers a number of scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance Programme in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.

These so called Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study:

1) in Bachelor/Master study programmes plus one-year preparatory course of the Czech language (which is combined with other field-specific training). Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from upper secondary schools who can enrol only in study programmes in which they follow instruction in the Czech language. Depending on the subject area, applicants are normally required to take entrance examinations at the respective institution of higher education. The scholarship award is conditional upon a successful passing of entrance examinations;

or

2) in follow-up Master study programmes or Doctoral study programmes. Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from Bachelor or Master study programmes, respectively, who enrol in study programmes with instruction in the English language.

Study Areas Available in English:
1) Economics
2) informatics
3) agriculture

Scholarship applications together with the required attachments are to be submitted to the appropriate Czech Embassy in the applicant’s country before the deadline set by the Embassy so that the applicants’ dossiers reach the respective Czech authorities (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport) by 15 January each year.

Students who, at the time of application, stay in the Czech Republic may submit the respective documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Department for Development Co-operation, by 31 December of the preceding year at the latest.

Foreign nationals who have been granted permanent residence in the Czech Republic are not eligible to apply for Government scholarships.

[USA] The 2010 NASA Scholarship Awards for Undergraduate and Graduate Students in Aeronautics or Related Fields

ASA Accepting Applications for Aeronautics Scholarship Awards : NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate will begin accepting scholarship applications on Sept. 1, 2009, for the 2010 academic year.
The application deadline is Jan. 11, 2010

“These scholarships are a fantastic way to support our brightest students and encourage them to finish their education, expose them to NASA’s research programs and inspire them to pursue a career in aeronautics,” said Jaiwon Shin, associate administrator for the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate at NASA Headquarters in Washington. OFID Scholarship Award 2009/10

OFID (The OPEC Fund for International Development) is pleased to announce that qualified undergraduate students are welcome to apply for the OFID Scholarship 2009/10. The OFID Scholarship will be awarded to support an undergraduate student from any developing country, to pursue higher education in a relevant field of development, in any recognized university/college in the world. Through its scholarship scheme, OFID aims to help highly motivated, highly driven individuals overcome one of the biggest challenges to their careers – the cost of advanced professional or graduate training. The winner of the OFID Award will receive a scholarship of up to US$100,000 The funds will be spread over a maximum of two years, toward the completion of a Master’s degree, or its equivalent, at an accredited educational institution, starting in the autumn of the academic year 2009/10.

[UK] The University of Westminster Undergraduate Full Scholarships 2009-2010 for International Students

At the University of Westminster you can apply for a scholarship once you have been offered a place (either conditional or unconditional) on a course at the University, but before you start your course. The only exception to this rule is if you are an undergraduate UK/EU student who started your course under the new tuition fee regime.
