Strathclyde Business School (SBS) MBA Scholarships 2010

SBS is offering a number of scholarships to self-funding candidates about to undertake full or part-time studies on our Department of Management (DoM) programmes at SBS.

Scholarships are available for the following programmes:

MBA Full-time:

2 scholarships of £3000 – DoM Women’s scholarships (for female students)
4 scholarships of £3000 – DoM European & International scholarships (1 each for students from an African*, Asian*, European* or Latin or Northern American* country)
2 Scholarships of £3000 – DoM Teamplayer scholarships

MBA Part-time:

1 scholarship of £3000 – DoM Women’s scholarship (for female students)
1 scholarship of £3000 – DoM Entrepreneurial scholarship (to students with an entrepreneurial background, & currently owner/manager of a start-up organization)
1 scholarships of £3000 – DoM Teamplayer scholarship

MBA Flexible Learning (available for both October and April intakes):

3 scholarships of £2000 – DoM Teamplayer scholarship

MBM Full-time:

2 scholarships of £2000 – DoM Women’s scholarships (for female students)
2 scholarships of £2000 – DoM European & International scholarships (2 for students from a European* country)
1 scholarship of £2000 – DoM Teamplayer scholarship

MIM Full-time:

1 scholarship of £2000 – Neil Hood Women’s scholarship (for female students)
4 scholarships of £2000 – Neil Hood European & International scholarships (1 each for a student from an Asian*, African*, Latin American* and a European* country)

BITS Full-time:

5 scholarships of £1000 – DoM Teamplayer scholarships
2 half fee scholarships of £6,000 to students from the UK or EU**
2 full fee scholarships of £12,000 to students from the UK or EU**
Candidates interested in applying for these scholarships are required to demonstrate through their ideas, experience, and achievements that they are an excellent team player, and will be an asset to this year’s group.

The award will be judged on a 1000 word statement supplied by each candidate and we will also consider leadership/managerial skills or potential, overall quality of application and interview performance as well as financial need. Please also submit a maximum of 300 words outlining your reason for applying for the scholarship. This statement is in addition to the programme application, but candidates are free to submit the statement at the same time as their application by uploading as a document with their application or emailing us at SBS.admissions@strath.ac.uk

The closing date for consideration for these awards is 31 May 2010 for full-time programmes and 12 September 2010 for the part-time MBA, 30 September and 31 March for October and April Flexible MBA intakes. Please note that we are unable to consider candidates who do not hold an offer of a place on any of the above programmes.

The successful candidates for the full-time awards will be notified by end July 2010 and for the part-time award by the end of September 2010 and will have the total award automatically deducted from their tuition fees (and split over 2/3 years for the part-time and flexible awards).
