Do you want to become an Inspirator?

MS ActionAid Denmark is right now launching a new personnel category called Inspirators. Inspirators are cross-national placement of development practitioners with significant hands on experience from development work in developing or newly industrialised countries. We are therefore looking for dedicated individuals, who would like to spend 3 to 9 months together with one of our many partner organisations in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Middle East.

Inspirators are volunteer placements. This means that you will not receive a formal salary, but you will have your travel expenses and accommodation covered. You will also receive a living allowance to cover your costs of living while abroad and 350€ to cover some of the expenses you may have in your home country while abroad. Call for proposals: “window for local development”

The Technical Unit Co-Development launches in the framework of “Support Project Co-Development” on financing the 9th European Development Fund (EDF) a call for proposals “window for local development” in 2010. With a budget of 300 million FCFA, this call for proposals aimed at strengthening the participation of the Malian diaspora to local development in Mali through two components:

· Component 1: Productive projects and structuring, endowed with 200 million CFA francs;
· Component 2: improvement projects of the living population, endowed with 100 million CFA francs;

The subsidy amount per project will be between 15 million and 30 million CFA francs CFA.
The project duration is a maximum of 12 months.
The end date for submission is July 20, 2010.

Within the framework of the 50th anniversary of African independence, the Social and Human Sciences Sector of UNESCO (SHS) is launching a “Call for Ideas” for prospective proposals in favour of Africa’s development within the next decade. Among the proposals, which should be submitted before Friday 30 April 2010 at midnight (Paris time), 10 ideas will be selected by an international jury and presented by their author(s) during 10 small-scale conferences to be held at UNESCO Headquarters in mid-June 2010.
